Semiconductor manufacturers plan to expand production
Micron (a semiconductor manufacturer) officially started construction of a new memory manufacturing plant in Idaho, USA. Previously, semiconductor giant Intel said it would invest more than $20 billion to build two chip factories in the United States, and GF plans to invest $8 billion to help double the capacity of the chip factory in Dresden, Germany. Overall, the current semiconductor downturn is approaching the end of the cycle, and many semiconductor companies are optimistic about the long-term demand for wafers in the future, and are preparing to start a new round of expansion actions to expand market share.
